Your journey to find “truth” began before you came to planet Earth and will continue long after you leave here. This journey is eternal because you are eternal and that which you seek is also eternal. So, let’s continue this fascinating life adventure; this delightful, ongoing celebration of discovering more and more of what you and I have not yet realized as it unfolds in the NOW of each moment. Who are you right now, in this present moment of awareness?
To find your own spiritual path is the most delightful adventure you’ll ever encounter. It is the way to remembering who you are and why you’ve come to the planet. What is your purpose for being here in a physical body? What are your dreams? Do you remember?
We are anxious about much. Memories of what we call “the past” both haunt us with pain and comfort us with meaningful connections. Dread, dismay, and fear spread themselves over the landscape of what we call “the future,” yet we hold onto hope, dreams, desires, plans, and preparations for what we envision as a better life to come; a future that is better than what we are experiencing in the present. As we travel upon our spiritual journey to know more of what truth is, we also encounter what we do not want to experience as challenges of discomfort, pain, grief, loss, and suffering remind us that the experience of being human also includes what we cannot avoid. In all of these “unfoldings” of life we are not free from the nagging question, “What is my purpose for being here in this lifetime?”
And, while no one can answer that question for you, there are some established principles to guide you in your quest for the deepest fulfillment a human can know. Before we can know these principles by experience, our first step is to get one issue settled once and for all–we are not sinful or wicked as the church has deceptively portrayed.
Condemnation, fear, and control are together the “hallmark” of the shadow masculine religious mind. The insecurity of the religious patriarchs has resulted in their being led by their egos down a path of grave error. That error is best defined by three words: fixation, distortion, and diversion. First, the erroneous fixation on the church’s invention of sin. Second, they choose to make “sin” a catch-all for all of their own errors and then project them onto all others. This distortion allows them to push away the real message of the Aramaic Jesus who taught a vastly different view of humanity. For in their distortions is the escape from the deepest challenges of life–dealing with reality in a way that transforms and heals both ourselves and others. Third, they invent the idea of a “scapegoat” (making someone else or something else responsible for their failures) and diverting their attention to some kind of theological salvation that allows them to preach the “you must get saved or else” message of fear. This is what happens when the ego is out of control.
Let’s look at the truth of the Aramaic Jesus–not the false Jesus of the church. We all get to work with our ego–our selfish self, alongside our Divinity within–our Sacred Self. We came to the planet knowing what our work would be in learning to overcome and deny our ego and instead learn to listen to The Divine within and choose to embody that by our new choices. This new way of being leads us to our deepest purpose for coming here again. We are here on a Divine mission. I’ve written in detail about all of the following in my books. Here is a brief discussion of these principles.
We are here to learn. We are here to grow. We are here to become the best we can be, not just for this lifetime, but for the highest service possible in the eternal realms beyond this part of reality. We are here to learn how to deal with pain and suffering and know, most of all that experiencing pain and suffering is not the result of being sinful. Pain and suffering reveal to us our own shadow that 1) we are here to transform and 2) will reveal to us, as we learn, our deep purpose for this lifetime here on the planet. Our shadow is not sinful! Jesus said we are here to “birth a new self continuously” by making new patterns of choices.
As we come to understand the beauty within all pain and suffering and by doing our shadow work, we are able to get to a much deeper place–our Divinity–the “kingdom of heaven within” as Jesus said. Then what? Then we begin to understand that as we embody love and forgiveness we help transform this planet. Love and forgiveness are Divine attributes. Those attributes are within us too because we are part of The Divine. As we move beyond pain, suffering, and our shadow parts to claim our Divinity, we learn that we have the power to choose love and forgiveness because they are deep within and await our call to bring them forth into action here and now. Without “Divinity within” we could never call them forth. By bringing them up, acting upon them and expressing them in our relationships with others we realize that we are here to heal our self and support others in their healing. We are here to celebrate our mistakes as we learn from them and celebrate our connections with others as they learn too. This is our calling–our purpose!
And, there are some very specific reasons that you are here! Your path is unique and it can take you to know both what those reasons are and how you can choose to express them. In this way of living you are “born again,” not by some stupid theology, but by and through your Divinity! Our choice always in this lifetime is to overcome the selfish self (ego) and embody our Sacred Self (Divinity) and enjoy the grand adventure of discovering how to do that.
Your life is your life. No one can tell you how to live it. As you own your “stuff,” transform it into light, heal yourself and support others in their healing, you will step into the beauty of your Sacred Self as never before. Let us celebrate our Divinity.
